We're opening a member-owned cooperative grocery store in the Kensington area of Philadelphia. Our mission is to provide healthy, quality food, products and services to our members and the community.
KCFC is building the membership and raising the funds necessary to open a grocery store. The scope, scale, and future of the project will be determined by how we can best serve our membership.
What does it mean to be a member of KCFC?
The life blood of a Co-op is its membership. Members are the loyal shoppers, members form the vision to get the food and services they want, because the members own the store.
As a member-owner your benefits before the store opens are:
- Discounts at local businesses through our Shop Local Program
- Order great food at great prices through our Buyer's Club
- Influence Store Products undefined By joining early, you get to influence the products we sell from day 1. We work to serve the needs of our members!
- You help get this store open sooner rather than later!!!
When the store opens:
- Ownership - Walk in like you own the place, because you do!
- Discounts - Co-ops typically offer members-only discounts
- Democratic governance - each owner has a say in how the Co-op is governed - you can even serve as a board member
- Annual rebates are paid to members based on the profit of our sales, and the amount the member has spent at the store
You can pay in installments, or the full $200.
